A new matrimonial website t4tamil.com, exclusively for Tamil community was launched on Sunday, 2nd May 2010, with a more up-to-date design and an improved structure.

Ganesh P, e-communications manager, has been leading the redesign project over the past six months. He said: “As well as giving the website a cleaner and more modern design, we wanted to make it more user friendly – which meant completely overhauling the structure. “Popular sections such as Tamil Matrimony,  have been given greater prominence and the site is now fully accessible to everyone.” 100% free Tamil Matrimonial was the need of the hour he said.
Observant users will also notice new features such as video upload and a specific search, which enables visitors to search for Age, caste and other specific searches.

The clear and dynamic image presented by the site supports and demonstrates the way we want to engage with all our audiences in the future.” The first stage of the redesign of our website has finally been completed and the new updated site is up and running. Many improvements have been made to the site so finding what you need should be quick and easy.

Over the next couple of weeks the remainder of the product data will be added, he said.

Overturning its earlier order of annulling the three-year-old marriage of Satish Berwal and Kavita Beniwal for allegedly violating the social norm of fraternity between the two gotras, a joint panchayat of Beniwal and Berwal gotras on Friday reinstated the marital status of the couple after hours-long discussion over the issue at Meham town of Rohtak in Haryana.

The panchayat allowed Satish and Kavita to continue as husband and wife but imposed a life ban on Kavita’s visit to her in-laws' village Kheri for allegedly challenging the panchayat’s decision and lodging a complaint with the police against members of the village panchayat held on January 30 last.

The panchayat also ordered the couple to withdraw the criminal case registered against the Beniwal gotra persons who allegedly attended the controversial panchayat a meeting that ordered termination of the couple’s marriage last week. Satish Berwal said he accepted the panchayat’s verdict and would stay with his wife Kavita and their son Raunak in Meham while his wife Kavita withheld her comment.

Notably, police had registered a case under Sections 499, 153, 504 and 505 IPC against unidentified members of the khap panchayat which had pronounced the annulment five days back acting on the complaint of Kavita Beniwal.

A joint panchayat of the Berwal-Beniwal gotra in Kheri village of Meham subdivision in this district had on January 30 issued a diktat to terminate the three-year-old matrimonial tie between Satish Berwal and Kavita citing social norm of bhaichara (fraternity) between Berwal and Beniwal gotras.

Kavita belongs to Bhagi village in Bhiwani district and hailed from Beniwal before marriage. The panchayat had maintained that people of both gotras reside in Kheri village and hence their relationship violated the societal ‘norm’ and ordered the young pair to terminate their matrimonial ties with immediate effect.

Nokia is going green by taking back old phone for recycling and has started “we:recycle” campaign and urging people to become “Planet Saver”. It’s requesting people to drop old phones at Nokia priority dealer or Nokia care centre and promising to recycle the metal and plastic to make useful things, resulting into no extra mining and no cutting trees.  It’s also promising to plant a tree for every phone you drop.

In today’s reality, recycling old phones is not such a common practice. Isn’t this a very innovative and big corporate social responsibility (CSR), the size at Nokia operates is large and collecting phones from thousands of priority centre and Nokia care need huge logistics and then dismantle all these phones. Nokia has over 1 billion phones sold worldwide.

How many times you have upgraded your mobile handset in last 3 years? What you did with old handset? Many of such handsets remain somewhere in the corner of the room or thrown in dustbin. A source reveals that the ad has all the details about Sameera and makes it look like she's desperate to find a groom. "She was totally shocked that the ad had her details like her date of birth, her vital statistics and family information.



Also, they put up a picture of hers, saying she's looking for a groom. It looked like an authentic matrimonial ad," says the source. Reddy's friends and close ones have started joking about it as well.



Sameera is amused by the existence of such an ad and says, "Do you think I need to go to a website or take its support to declare that I want to get married?"

But, all this turned out to be false alarm when Sameera herself confirmed that the ad hasn’t been put up by her. "Do you think I need to go to a website or take its support to declare that I want to get married," she asked the prying journalists.

This area of cybercrime is with regard to defamation. There are various issues related to Internet defamation. These are white collar crime; today this has happened with Sameera Reddy and because she is celebrity, matrimonial portal must have deleted it faster than the usual. But imagine if this would have happened to next door girl in neighborhood. There are instances where people are cheating other candidates by false and fake profiles on matrimonial sites.

There has to be need to cross check the authenticity of profiles, photographs, key information put up on such sites. Putting wrong information can cause a big trauma to girl and her family and consequences will be long term. Indian Express recently reported that India is fast emerging as a major hub of cybercrime as recession is driving computer-literate criminals to electronic scams, claimed a study by researchers at the University of Brighton.  As more and more regions of the world go online, cybercrime is finding new and more permissive environments, especially in developing nations, where cybercrime is gaining a foothold, the report says.
